Garret W. Meader
Garret Meader joined the firm in 2005 as an associate. Garret primarily practices in the areas of local government defense, civil rights, zoning, constitutional law, insurance defense, construction law, and personal injury.
Originally from Lilburn, Georgia, Garret graduated from the University of Georgia with a B.B.A. in 1997, received his M.B.A. from Georgia State University in 2001, and graduated from the Georgia State University College of Law in 2005. While at Georgia State University College of Law, Garret was an executive board member of Moot Court and was a Litigation Honors recipient.
While attending law school, Garret was employed as Chief Information Officer for the Association County Commissioners of Georgia (“ACCG”). During his time at ACCG, Garret assisted county governments with a variety of technology related issues and was appointed by former Governor Zell Miller to the Governor’s Task Force on Warning and Communication and was appointed by former Governor Roy Barnes to the Census 2000 Complete Count Committee. Garret also served as co-chair of the Georgia Electronic Commerce Association’s e-voting working group. In addition, while working towards his M.B.A., Garret authored The Free Internet Initiative in LaGrange, Georgia, which was published by Harvard Business School and is used as a teaching tool nationwide.
Garret lives on St. Simons Island with his wife and two daughters, and is a member of Wesley United Methodist Church.
