Firm History and Philosophy

The firm, initially known as Dickey, Whelchel, Miles and Brown, was founded in 1977 by a majority of the partners of a predecessor firm that traced its ancestry back almost 100 years. Since its inception, the firm has been serving clients throughout Georgia and North Florida.

While the firm is located in southeast Georgia, an area often referred to as "The Golden Isles", the firm serves clients throughout Georgia and North Florida. The firm's attorneys have practical experience in virtually every jurisdiction in Georgia and have handled numerous cases in Florida and other southeastern states as well. Our attorneys have over 150 combined years of trial experience, having tried several hundred cases to jury verdict, as well as hundreds of additional administrative and workers' compensation proceedings. We have a wide ranging litigation practice, ranging from the representation of international manufacturers in products liability, business disputes and even warranty claims, to representation of insurance companies and their insureds, as well as corporate clients, local businesses and professionals. In addition, we assist many companies with pre-suit activities, including review of insurance and other contracts, drafting of employment manuals and guidelines as well as advice with regard to EEOC compliance.

Our firm is committed to providing the highest quality of legal services in the most realistic and cost efficient manner possible. We believe that time spent in aggressively defending a client's case should be both reasonable and necessary as well as with the full and informed consent of the client. We are satisfied that the results that we have achieved for our clients have proven this philosophy to be the correct one for the ultimate benefit of the client.
